He is a man in his 50s who is strong, hard and evil, and the lack of a clear understanding of social life eticate or no consideration to the generally accepted rules on acceptable behavior in public and in private life.
Any rational thought are welcome.

People like it when you reach a certain point, usually have difficulty changing their behavior just because they do not know that there is a problem. Subtle hints, it will redirect attention to other people or do not work a selfless act always good. If so, you must be honest with him. Tell him point blank that you claim is your only find repugnant, and is not in the last few years. The continuation of rudeness, then get up and go. Politely tolerate his behavior does not give them license to continue.
My husband had a friend, and also sat down while in a nursing home and knew he was dying. The death he was. Silent As a member of the family is not what you can do except ignore it and not be invited anywhere embarrassed in front of strangers (I believe the rest of the family is feeling the same way as I do).
